Benjamin Britt-President, MIT Energy Club at Sloan

Ben is a second year MBA student at MIT Sloan School of Management where he focuses on energy finance, sustainability, and clean technology.  His leadership roles at MIT include Director of Content for the MIT Energy Finance Forum, Category Lead for the MIT Clean Energy Prize, and Co-President of the Sloan Veterans Association.  He is currently at GE Energy Financial Services for the summer where he is working on financing capital-intensive energy investments.

Ben formerly served in the United States Navy, primarily as a nuclear engineer aboard the USS Pennsylvania (SSBN-735), and also as the Branch Head of the submarine communications branch at SPAWAR Systems Center.  He then worked in various financial and leadership positions at Goal Financial in both their Capital Markets and New Ventures group.  While at Goal Financial, he co-founded the subsidiary WiseChoice, an on-line college planning services provider.

Ben graduated from the United States Naval Academy with honors and has a MS in Finance from the University of Maryland-College Park.  He grew up in the suburbs of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Emmanual Boros-Vice President, Industry Relations

Emmanuel is a second year MBA student at the MIT Sloan School of Management focused on energy and infrastructure finance in developing countries. Emmanuel interned this summer at Dalberg Global Development Advisors in Washington DC, where he assessed early stage investments in clean-tech startups in Africa and then at Tribeca Asset Management, Private Equity firm in Bogota, Colombia where he performed strategic and financial analysis of portfolio companies in the energy sector.

Emmanuel is currently Vice President of Industrial Relations for the MIT Energy Club @ Sloan and Co-President of the MIT Sloan European Business Club. During his first year, Emmanuel was Marketing Director for MIT Sloan Energy Finance Forum and led the Emerging markets panels of the MIT Sloan Venture Capital Conference and Private Equity Symposium. He also co-led a study tour focused on renewable energy in Spain and Denmark.

Prior to attending Sloan, Emmanuel worked for 2 years in investment banking in Paris and 2 years in business development within the Trade Mission of the French Embassies in Bogota and Djibouti (East Africa). While in Djibouti, he notably organized various business delegations in the Horn of Africa as well as the first economic forum between France and Djibouti. He also assessed and analyzed several development projects financed by the French government in the geothermal and wind energy sectors.  Emmanuel is a 2011 Legatum Fellow.

Javier Crespo-Vice President, Industry Relations

Javier Crespo is a 2012 MBA Candidate at MIT Sloan. He currently serves as VP of Industry Relations for the MIT Energy Club at Sloan. During his time at Sloan he has had several leadership positions in the organization of student-led conferences. In the summer of 2011, Javier worked at the Investment Banking Division of Credit Suisse, with the Global Energy Group, focusing mostly on Renewables Project Finance.

Previously, Javier worked for the Corporate Development Division of Iberdrola where he analyzed and executed key global M&A deals across the power and gas value chain. He had a leading role in several corporate transactions that implemented the strategic plan of the company and helped reshape its geographical an d business segment presence. He also played a role in conducting strategic reviews of the competitive landscape. Before joining Iberdrola, Javier worked as a management consultant at IBM Business Consulting Services and Europraxis Management Consulting. He holds a Superior Industrial Engineering degree from the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid.

Jacob (JJ) Weinstein-Managing Director, Energy Business Bootcamp

JJ Weinstein is a 2nd year MBA student at MIT Sloan, focusing on energy finance. Before Sloan, he worked for Wells Fargo Bank in New York City for five years in commercial real estate structured and project finance. As an Associate with Wells Fargo’s Real Estate Merchant Banking Group, JJ assisted with underwriting and originating a portfolio of highly structured senior and subordinate non-recourse transactions. He co-managed the portfolio after closing, and worked with the loan syndications team to sell down the bank’s exposure. Following the Wachovia acquisition, JJ was promoted to Assistant Vice President and worked for two years as a Relationship Manager in the Special Situations: Institutional Clients Group, a specialized loan workout group formed to handle distressed legacy Wachovia commercial real estate loans.

JJ’s interest in clean energy and environmental management comes from his family’s small business, Boom Environmental Products, which produces green spill control and geotechnical products for commercial and industrial use.

JJ graduated from Cornell in 2005 with a bachelor’s in Applied Economics and Management. He grew up in the suburbs of Boston.

Yih-Han Ma-Vice President, Industry Relations

Yih-Han is a second year MBA student at the MIT Sloan School of Management.  He currently serves as a VP of Industry Relations for the MIT Energy Club at Sloan.  He is also Co-President of the MIT Sloan Venture Capital & Private Equity (VCPE) Club and a member of the Dean’s Student Advisory Council. 

Yih-Han interned this summer with Nike’s Sustainable Business + Innovation Lab, the venture capital arm of the company.  He evaluated early-stage investment opportunities across the cleantech, advanced materials, and closed-loop manufacturing sectors.  Immediately prior to business school, he spent a year working with the military on sustainable energy solutions.  Previously, he was a member of the energy private equity team at Starwood Energy Group (part of Starwood Capital Group), where he evaluated investment opportunities across the energy/power/infrastructure landscape and led teams to close several acquisitions and development deals.  He began his career with the Resources management consulting group at Accenture, where he worked with energy companies in North America and Europe on a wide variety of strategy projects.

He graduated Phi Beta Kappa and with high honors from the University of California, Berkeley (B.S. Business Administration, Haas School of Business; B.A. Economics). 

Adam Bujdoso-Co-Chair, Energy Finance Forum

Adam is a second-year MBA student at MIT Sloan School of Management, focusing on finance, banking and energy. He is the Co-Chair of the MIT Energy Club @ Sloan’s flagship annual event, the Energy Finance Forum. He is also a Co-President of the MIT Sloan European Business Club, and during his first year, he co-led the Energy Panel at the 8th Annual MIT Sloan Private Equity Symposium.

In the summer of 2011, Adam worked at Morgan Stanley’s Investment Banking Division in London, and were involved in various projects in the automotive, manufacturing, mining, and oil & gas sectors. Prior to MIT, he worked at Oriens, an independent, privately-owned boutique investment management firm with activities in private equity and corporate finance advisory, focusing on Central and South Eastern Europe. At Oriens, Adam performed advisory, market research, target screening, due diligence and valuation in the energy, finance, media, technology and telecommunication sectors, and he also managed one of the private equity fund’s portfolio companies in the technology sector in a Co-CEO capacity. Prior to Oriens, he worked as a management consultant. Adam grew up in Hungary, and holds a MSc in Economics from the Corvinus University of Budapest and a MA in International Management from the Community of European Management Schools.
